Accuris Networks, a fixed mobile convergence solution provider, has launched its AccuROAM platform designed for GSM to Wi-Fi hotspot roaming. Based on the idea that roaming should preserve a user’s voice, data, SMS and any other wireless applications experience, Accuris’ roaming solution promises to enable subscribers to use Wi-Fi hotspots to make VoIP calls from their mobile phones.
“At Accuris Networks, our aim is to assist mobile operators in maintaining their position in the roaming value chain while at the same time increasing the level of profitability generated from roaming traffic,” said Aidan Dillon, Accuris Network’s CEO, in a statement.
Accuris said it has secured interest from mobile operators, and that operators are interested in these key areas of the company’s new product: that it enables mobile operators to compete with VoIP providers on price; that it allow them to offer their subscribers a superior roaming service compared to other VoIP providers; it’s a mobile phone based solution; and that AccuROAM supports both incoming and outgoing calls.
