Adax Europe said today that its SS7 signaling card, along with software from partner Aricent, are the foundations of the SS7/TCAP interfaces in the recent MMS announcement from 724 Solutions.
Adax and Aricent officially refer to this combination as the “nexGen” system. The system helps customers add interfaces without disrupting networks, 724 noted.
In 724’s case, the technology is used for connecting multimedia messaging to social networking and other personal applications, with the larger goal of increasing premium services revenue for carriers.
Adax and Aricent both count Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson and Motorola as customers. Adax also has ip.access, which is partially owned by Cisco Systems. Aricent has Nokia, SK Telecom, Tekelec and Vodafone.
