ADRF Launches 5G New Radio Support for DAS and Repeater Solutions

By dmiyares | December 5, 2018

Advanced RF Technologies, Inc. (ADRF), the largest pure-play in-building Distributed Antenna System (DAS) provider for commercial and public safety radio frequencies, announces the commercial availability of 5G New Radio (5G NR) capable DAS and repeater solutions.

5G NR aims to significantly lower cost-per-bit with new levels of reliability, security, and latency. The three primary 5G use cases include Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) whereby multitudes of people can experience seamless ultra-high speed anywhere, Massive Machine Type Communications (mMTC) (i.e., Internet of Things) that can connect a vast number of devices, and Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC) which can deliver real-time connection without data delay for safety-critical applications.

Mobile network operators, neutral host operators, or enterprises themselves, today, can deploy the future-proof, yet cost-effective technological innovation embodied in ADRF’s 5G NR solutions which include:

  • ADXV Series DAS now supports 5G NR on both Medium Power Remote Unit (MPR) (37 dBm) and High Power Remote Unit (HPR) (46 dBm).
  • SDR-ICS Series outdoor modular repeater features ADRF’s patented Interference Cancellation System (ICS) and 43 dBm of output power.
  • SDR Series is the first commercial grade indoor modular repeater to support 5G NR and allows backward compatibility supporting up to 20 MHz for 4G LTE-TDD.

“With our first-to-market 5G NR support, ADRF continues our long tradition of technological leadership within the in-building industry and ensures we always remain a step ahead of the next cellular network evolution,” said Julie Song, ADRF’s President. “Our 5G NR solutions not only establish a foundation for 5G standardization but also give our customers a simple, modular migration to massive wireless coverage and capacity in any building.”
