Amazon Wednesday may have given its Kindle tablets a nice refresh, but the company may also have revolutionized device customer service. 

According to a press release, Amazon’s new Kindle HDX received plenty of spec upgrades-faster processor, more memory-as well as free, live 24/7 interactive video-based customer support.  

The new service is called “Mayday.” According to Amazon, Kindle HDX customers can access a customer service expert with a single tap of the Mayday button. The Amazon expert will appear on the tablet and can “co-pilot” users through any feature by drawing on the screen. 

The Kindle HDX comes in 8.9-inch ($379) and 7-inch sizes ($229). These are powerhouse tablets. Amazon says it has doubled the memory, and tripled the processing power with 2.2 GHz quad-core processor. Users will also get up to 11 hours of battery life (17 hours when reading).

Amazon also bumped the specs on the Kindle HD, which are now in line with last year’s high-end models. The HD now comes in at $139.
