Apple late yesterday released a statement on the recently reported hacking of its developer website.
Apple acknowledged that last Thursday an intruder attempted to secure personal information of registered developers from the website.
“Sensitive personal information was encrypted and cannot be accessed,” Apple wrote in the statement, adding that the company still has not ruled out the possibility that “some developers’ names, mailing addresses, and/or email addresses may have been accessed.”
Apple said it took the site down immediately on Thursday and has since been working to fix the problem.
In an effort to prevent future breaches, Apple said it is “completely overhauling” its developer systems, updating its server software, and rebuilding its entire database.
The company expects the developer website to be “up again soon.”
