Well, it looks like the legal battle between Apple and Nokia isn’t going to let up any time soon. On Friday, Apple asked the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) to ban imports of Nokia devices it claims infringe on its patents.
The move comes less than a month after Nokia filed a similar complaint with the ITC claiming Apple’s iPhone and iPods violated its patents. At issue are features in devices’ user interface, cameras, antennas and power management systems. Both Apple and Nokia also have filed lawsuits against each other over patent infringement claims.
Separately, Apple is also being sued by Kodak over the alleged violation of its image viewing patents. In a lawsuit filed last week, Kodak said it had tried to negotiate with Apple and RIM “for years” to resolve the alleged patent infringement and that the lawsuit was a last-ditch resort to “protect the interests of our shareholders and the existing licensees of our technology,” according to company vice president and chief intellectual property officer Laura Quatela.
Kodak also wants the ITC to stop the import of iPhones it claims infringe on its image viewing patents.
