In the 30 days since Apple opened the doors to the App Store, its online software clearinghouse, users reportedly have downloaded more than 60 million programs for the iPhone.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Apple CEO Steve Jobs said his company has sold an average of $1 million a day in applications for a total of about $30 million in sales over the month.
If sales stay on pace, Apple could earn roughly $360 million a year in new revenue from the App Store.
According to Jobs, Apple is keeping only 30% of the proceeds from application sales while the programs’ creators keep 70%.
