Not to be outdone by whatever it is Apple has in store at its April 8 iPhone OS preview event, Microsoft weighed in late yesterday with a similar event. The software giant has sent invitations to journalists that say, “It’s Time to Share.” The event is slated for April 12.
According to reports from The Wall Street Journal, which cites “people close to the matter,” the invites are referencing Microsoft’s much anticipated “Project Pink.” The highly secretive and code-named Project Pink is rumored to be a line of phones that are aimed at the teen demographic and feature deep integration of social networking and texting services.
Verizon Wireless declined to comment on rumors that it will be Microsoft’s carrier partner for bringing the phones to market this year.
