Business customers will soon have one more option to choose from when it comes to computer networking and storage services. AT&T is the latest company to invest in what is known as “cloud computing.”
Several other companies have recently announced initiatives, including Amazon.com, Google, IBM and Verizon Communications
The appeal of cloud computing for enterprises is they can eliminate the need for their own data centers and they can pay for bandwidth on-demand as they need it.
Many businesses, such as retailers, experience spikes in business throughout the year. Cloud computing allows them to adapt for those moments in time when they need added infrastructure to accommodate the spikes.
