Anyone planning on sitting outside an AT&T store tomorrow for a new iPhone might want to reconsider. AT&T confirmed late yesterday that it will not sell the iPhone 4 until June 29.
According to a statement, AT&T will follow through on deliveries of the phone to customers who pre-ordered the device on June 15. All other customers will be able to get the device beginning Tuesday, June 29, when the carrier puts the device on sale in all AT&T sales channels.
For those who pre-ordered the device for store pick-up, AT&T said that retail representatives “will begin calling customers this week to let them know their iPhone 4 is available for pick up in store.”
The first iPhone 4 units began arriving on doorsteps late yesterday, two days prior to the initial date of June 24 that Apple and AT&T had pegged for deliveries of the new phone.
