An unspecified router glitch on AT&T’s network caused a Web access outage for many Apple iPhone users in the northeastern U.S. yesterday, the company said.
The problem is fixed now, officials said, however, AT&T’s 3G network has had similar symptoms in the past despite extensive planning. Meanwhile, there are still no good solid answers about why many customers of the iPhone 3G are reportedly experiencing poor network reception.
Apple delivered a software patch last month and additional patches are widely expected this fall.
Industry experts say that such problems will have to be eliminated before the iPhone can succeed as a mainstream business tool.
