AT&T today announced a collaboration with America Movil to expand the carrier’s reach for enterprise customers with operations in Latin America.
Through the interconnection partnership, AT&T customers will gain better access to 15 Latin American markets covering more than 50,000 POPs in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico,Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.
On the flip side, the collaboration will open up America Movil MPLS-based services at companies like Telmex, Embratel and Claro, to reach 163 countries.
“Enhanced global access and sound combination of core competencies and product portfolios will be essential for our clients to improve their productivity and efficiency through advanced solutions,” Isidoro Ambe Attar, corporate executive vice president at Telmex, said in a statement.
The strengthening of AT&T’s and America Movil’s partnership comes just months after AT&T sold $564 million worth of its shares in America Movil.
