General Motors (GM) has announced that AT&T LTE-connected data plans for its vehicles will launch later this year and start out at $10 monthly for 200 MB. The plans will jump from there to $20 for 1GB, $30 for 3GB and $50 for 5GB.

For OnStar subscribers, the 200MB and 1GB data plans will run $5 and $15, respectively. But OnStar subscribers won’t begin paying until either a 3-month or 3GB trial period (whichever comes first) ends.

One-time purchases for data buckets will also be available. They include 250MB for one day at  $5, or customers can opt for a 10GB bucket ($150 for OnStar subscribers, $200 for all other users) to be used over a 12-month period.

Existing AT&T customers will have the option of adding their LTE-equipped GM vehicle to their Mobile Share plans for $10 monthly.

The 2015 Chevrolet Malibu will be the first 4G LTE-equipped GM vehicle, followed by more than 30 other Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles by the end of the year, according to the press release.
