AT&T announced it will exclusively provide the connectivity for My Intelligent Communication Accessory (MICA), a new stylish wearable designed by Opening Ceremony and powered by Intel.
The MICA comes in white and black snakeskin with pearls, tiger’s eye, and lapis. Besides the fashion, MICA sports a 1.6-inch sapphire touch-screen display that will receive SMS and notifications. It will come with a cellular connection meaning no smartphone needed.
“MICA is unlike any other product we’ve connected before and it stands alone in terms of design and functionality,” Chris Penrose, senior vice president of Emerging Devices at AT&T, said in a statement. “This is a product that puts fashion first while allowing users to remain connected.”
Pricing hasn’t been revealed for MICA yet but reports have pegged it around $500. It will go on sale at Opening Ceremony and Barney’s by holiday 2014.
