AT&T Luring Businesses with 30GB Buckets for $130

By Ben Munson | September 29, 2014

AT&T over the weekend announced a limited time offer that will double the amount of data for some of its Mobile Share data plans.

The promotional rates, available until Oct. 31, will raise the $130 15GB bucket to 30GB as well as double the 20GB, 30GB, 40GB and 50GB plans. As with all AT&T Mobile Share plans with data buckets of 10GB or more, devices on Next will incur $15 monthly fees each.

The offer is geared toward families and small businesses. Families can share the data across up to 10 lines. AT&T allows businesses to have up to 25 lines for plans of 60GB to 100GB.

Along with unlimited talk and text, the Mobile Share plans feature unlimited international messaging from the U.S. to select countries. AT&T supports from the U.S., Puerto Rico and Guam to SMS to 190 countries and MMS to 120 countries.

Customers who turn on a new line of service for a device on Next will also get a $100 credit.

AT&T says the double data rates will not expire so long as customers keep the same data plans.

The new business-centric plans from Big Blue come a few weeks after Sprint introduced new Business Share plans along with up to $300 in credit for customers who switch.

Sprint’s business plans start at 20GB across 10 lines for $90 a month. The carrier said its new plans represent a 56-percent savings compared to similar offers from AT&T and Verizon Wireless.
