This story previously included information about a $200 discount on the iPhone 5 through an early upgrade program ahead of the launch of a new iPhone. In fact, AT&T has alwasy provided its customers with this opportunity. In statement, the company said that “This is business as usual. We offer an early upgrade option for customers with an account in good standing and who purchased their current phone at least 6 months earlier.”
AT&T launched a pair of new Mobile Share plans today. The company will now offer a 300 MB plans and a 2 GB plan.
Available July 26, both of the new plans include unlimited talk and text. The 300 MB plan will run $20 a month, with additional costs per device added. The company is marketing the plans towards customers with basic and quick-messaging devices, which after a $30 device fee would see a monthly bill of $50.
The new 2 GB plan, which runs $50 per month plus device connection fees, fills a void between the company’s existing 1 GB plan and the higher 4 GB plan.
It won’t be cheap for users who exceed that 300 MB plan. AT&T says it will charge $20 per 300MB of overage on 300MB plan and $15 per GB for add’l data on all others.
