AT&T Offers Two-Year Price Lock on Bundles

By Laura Hamilton | April 13, 2016

Indicating a further move to help drive its satellite TV offering into more homes in the age of cord cutting, AT&T announced a two-year guaranteed pricing for new DirecTV, home Internet and digital home phone customers through a bundling deal starting Thursday.

Customers are being offered the DirecTV Select package for $50 a month, guaranteed for two years if they add it to an eligible new or existing AT&T service, like wireless or home Internet.

“When you combine any of these AT&T services with a new DirecTV subscription, we’re locking your price in for two years, and customers can save more than 40 percent on these combined,” the company reports.

Monthly equipment fees for up to four TV receivers are now built into the cost and also guaranteed for two years.

DirecTV subscribers can add home Internet service with speeds up to 6 megabits per second for $30 a month more and locked in for two years. The WiFi gateway is included. Paying for both services on one bill also gets customers unlimited home Internet data, which AT&T says is worth $30 a month.

AT&T also is offering home voice service for two years for $9.99 per month if customers buy it along with two other services, such as TV, broadband or wireless. The home voice service offers unlimited calls in the United States, and wireline to wireline calls to Canada and Mexico.
