AT&T today announced it has reached an LTE roaming agreement with Canadian carrier Rogers.

The deal will reportedly make Rogers the first Canadian carrier to offer U.S. roaming. Rogers customers traveling in the U.S. can expect a $7.99 daily roaming charge with a 50MB daily data diet.

AT&T is encouraging its customers traveling in Canada to pick from one of three global data add-on packages priced monthly at 120MB for $30, 300MB for $60, and 800MB for $120. Those packages cover Canada plus 150 more countries.

As AT&T points out, Rogers’ LTE network already reaches 70 percent of Canada’s population and that Rogers has plans to expand its LTE network into 95 more markets over the next year.

In September, Rogers partnered up with Sprint for a connected car agreement, offering up its wireless network coverage for Canadian-manufactured cars deploying Sprint Velocity telematics solution.
