In a teaser short on details, AT&T is prepping us to “Get ready for what’s next in wireless” ahead of an event the company’s planned for July 16.
AT&T isn’t letting on what the big announcement could be but it used plenty of space to tout its LTE network. That could suggest the carrier is getting ready to pull back the curtain on its LTE-Advanced ambitions.
If that’s the case, it would fall in line with long-running rumors and predictions that AT&T would make the jump to LTE-Advanced in 2013. With big OEMs like Samsung (and reportedly Apple) beginning to manufacture LTE-Advanced handsets, the time would seem right for a U.S. carrier to get in on some of that.
We’ll have to wait and see what July 16 brings.
