Every pet owner has had the wish that their pet could take themselves to the bathroom instead of having to brave the extreme cold or heat to let their pet do their business. In situations where a pet is left at home for long periods, making sure they are able to go relieve themselves is rather important. Training a pet to go outside for the bathroom is a feat in itself, but teaching them to go inside can certainly get a few wires crossed. Inubox, designed by Texas-based Newton’s Box, is the answer to this predicament.
Inubox is the first smart commode for dogs that processes waste in an automatic process. The device was designed with both dog and owner in mind, maintaining a clean and odorless home while also providing a place for the pup to relieve themselves if left alone for long periods.
The box contains sensors that can detect when your pet steps onto the platform. Once your pet has relieved itself and left the platform, the box closes and begins a cleaning cycle depositing the waste in a sealed bag for later disposal. The Inubox will also shoot air freshener after each use to ensure no lingering odors spread throughout the house.
Through the use of smart and automated technology, the Inubox will remain active when you are not there and can detect your animal when it goes to use the box. Simply program the box using the built-in touchscreen or any iOS/Android smartphone app. The special app allows owners to monitor levels of litter, bags, and treats within the device. The box will also dispense a treat for your pup after each use to remind them what good puppies they are for using it.
The pet and owner friendly design makes it perfect for any home, folding away when it’s not needed. The Inubox is made from heavy-duty premium materials that can take a beating.
The company is currently running a Kickstarter campaign where a pledge of $840 will earn you your very own Inubox if it reaches production. The eventual retail price is projected at $1,200.
