Cell-Con’s lead acid battery chargers are designed to work with batteries that have been discharged to the manufacturers recommended 1.75 V per cell (5.25 V for a 6 V battery and 10.5 V for a 12 V battery). If the batteries have been discharged below that point or if the battery is near the end of its service life, it may draw more current than the charger it is designed for. In that case, the charger will fail safely by tripping a one-time discharge thermal fuse, which is mounted, on the primary windings.
