Boost Mobile unveiled a new set of Monthly Unlimited Select plans that will not include the prepaid carrier’s shrinking payments feature.
Under the shrinking payments offer, customers see a $5 monthly discount for every six months of on-time payments, maxing out at $15 off their original rate.
Boost’s new plans—which apply to smartphones and feature phones—feature unlimited talk and text. The $40 plan features 500MB of high-speed data, the $50 plan features 2.5GB and the $60 plan features 5GB.
The shift in plan pricing comes after Boost in March said it would begin throttling back customers who exceed data limits to 2G speeds, beginning May 16. For Boost users, that means slowing down to less than the current 256 Kbps throttling speeds.
A Sprint spokesperson said the change was due in part to accommodating Sprint postpaid customers with unlimited data plans.
