Those skateboarding, motorcycle-riding, on-the-go Boost Mobile subscribers might want to check this out: a phone so rugged you can practically run over it with your car and it will still work.
At least, that’s the message Boost is putting up in a YouTube video showing the features of the rugged Motorola i335 phone introduced this month. The handset features a thin candy-bar design with textured backing and a smooth rubber face aimed at attracting the young and active.
The phone is built to U.S. military standard 810F for dust, shock and vibration resistance to withstand the drops and spills that just might come from that active lifestyle. It has the Walkie-Talkie capability that is part of Boost’s pay-as-you-go service. Using the Boost Walkie-Talkie costs a dollar a day for unlimited nationwide use and the fee is charged only on days when the service is actually used or a walkie-talkie call is received, according to Boost.
The i335 is being sold at participating wireless dealers or Boost’s Website for a suggested retail price of $59.99.
