ChaCha, the question-and-answer service that uses human “guides” to find answers, announced that Rock the Vote will use its service to engage and inform young voters ahead of the Nov. 4 election.
By using ChaCha, Rock the Vote will be able to respond to questions from young voters via text message. Questions can be sent to RTVOTE (788683), and politically trained ChaCha guides will provide non-partisan answers, the company said.
Potential voters can learn everything from where their polling place is located to the positions taken by the candidates on issues like energy and taxation, according to a ChaCha press release. (No word on how the guides will answer questions that the candidates themselves have not yet answered.)
According to a representative for the company, the new program is part of ChaCha’s 1:1 Mobile Marketing Solutions service that it introduced in July. The program allows brands, enterprises and creative agencies to implement targeted mobile marketing campaigns. Coca-Cola was one of its first charter customers.
