Cricket Communications’ on-demand Muve Music service has logged over 1.1 million customers.
The service, which launched at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in 2010, has been a successful value-add for the prepaid carrier.
In September of 2012, Cricket announced that the Muve service would be included in all Cricket Android rate plans. Cricket hopes Muve will make music as “universal as the voice mail and text features customers have come to expect when they buy their wireless plans.”
Greg Lund, a spokesman for Cricket, said that a number of other carriers have expressed interest in offering the Muve service to their customers. He declined to say whether the service would be offered under existing branding or as a white-labled offering.
When asked whether Cricket is considering Muve apps for other platforms, such as tablets and TVs, Lund said the company is looking at every possible way to improve the service and has already reduced the size of the application by half.
Cricket’s Android plans include unlimited nationwide talk, text, data and music beginning at $50 per month.
