Dilithium is well-established overseas, but it’s boosting its U.S. presence with the introduction of the Dilithium Content Adapter (DCA), a solution that automates the real-time adaptation and delivery of video content over multiple networks to any device.
The problem with content adaptation today includes the need to deal with various formats, from Flash to 3GPP and Windows Media Format. The DCA can work with all these formats and eliminate hassle for operators, according to Dilithium representatives.
Executives say the product will make consumer adoption of mobile and broadband video easier in that carriers don’t have to worry about the configuration or delivery; the product will deliver high-quality content to subscribers.
Dilithium was founded in 2001 in Sydney, Australia, with headquarters in Petaluma, Calif. It has customers in more than 50 countries for its 3G mobile video solutions.
