Dish Network this week repeated a previous request for an extension to the time allotted for commenting on Sprint’s proposed buy out of Clearwire.
Sprint intends to purchase the remaining 50 percent share of Clearwire it doesn’t already own for $2.2 billion.
Under the conditions of the Dish’s motion, petitions to deny would be due January 25, 2013, oppositions would be due February 12, 2013, and replies would be due February 22, 2013.
Sprint’s buyout of Clearwire would be a huge boost to its spectrum holdings and could hinge on Japanese carrier Softbank’s bid to acquire a 70-percent stake in Sprint.
The FCC recently gave Dish approval to deploy a terrestrial wireless broadband network on its 20 MHz of AWS spectrum, which is adjacent to the H Block.
Sprint has expressed interest in bidding on the H Block should the FCC decide to put it up for auction next year and was critical of Dish’s plans for the an LTE Advanced network on its AWS-4 spectrum.
