Motorola’s contribution to Verizon Wireless’ popular Droid franchise continues with today’s announcement of the Droid 3.
Motorola is billing the Droid 3 as “the world’s thinnest full qwerty smartphone.” While not LTE capable, the new “superphone” packs elite tech specs.
The Droid 3 comes running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and features a 4-inch qHD touchscreen display, dual-core 1 GHz processor, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video capture, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G mobile hotspot capabilities.
Motorola is calling the Droid 3 “enterprise ready.” The new device and SD card feature encryption, complex password support, remote data wipe of device and SD card. The Droid 3 also comes equipped with QuickOffice for editing documents, as well as Citrix GoToMeeting for Android.
The Droid 3 is available now online and will be available in Verizon Wireless stores by July 14 for $199.99 with a new two-year customer agreement.
