Cloud storage service Dropbox has decided to streamline its offerings.
The company on Monday announced via its blog that it will be shutting down its email and photo apps.
Dropbox acquired the Mailbox app back in April of 2013 and launched it as an integrated app a year later alongside Carousel, the company’s photo management app.
In a blog on Dropbox’s site, the company said that over the past few months it had increased its focus on collaboration and simplifying the way people work together.
“In light of that, we’ve made the difficult decision to shut down Carousel and Mailbox,” the company announced.
Mailbox originally launched on iOS on an invite-only basis back in 2013, creating a lot of hype around an app the promised to simplify email.
