Communications infrastructure developer ExteNet Systems has appointed Jim Hyde as CEO to succeed Ross Manire.
Manire, the co-founder of ExteNet, is retiring after serving as president and CEO for 16 years.
Hyde comes to ExteNet with more than 20 years of wireless industry experience, most recently from Sprint where he was president of prepaid group, wholesale, affiliates and strategic partnerships. He spearheaded the company’s efforts to expand its MVNO and prepaid service businesses. Previously Hyde served as CEO and managing director of T-Mobile UK.
“ExteNet Systems has played an integral role in pioneering, designing and building the next generation of wireless networks,” says Marc Ganzi, executive chairman of ExteNet Systems, in a statement. “We thank Ross for the terrific job he has done in bringing the business to this point, and we wish him the best in his retirement and future endeavors. The Board and I are very excited to have Jim at the helm as we look to extend ExteNet Systems’ market leadership and bring new, innovative indoor and outdoor broadband solutions to the market. We are confident Jim is the right person to guide the company forward given his vast experience in owning and operating wireless networks.”
Also this week, ExteNet announced the completion of its purchase of Hudson Fiber Network, which expands the company’s high-capacity fiber network in the greater New York City metro area.
The acquisition from PE firm Tiger Infrastructure Partners, first announced in May, was previously noted to be an all-cash deal. Other terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
ExteNet previously said the deal will give the company more than 30,000 nodes overall that are operational or under construction across the U.S.
Hudson Fiber Network CEO Brett Diamond will report to the CEO and now lead ExteNet’s Optical Network Solutions business unit, which serves enterprises with connectivity solutions including dark fiber, dedicated internet access, secure private networks and cloud connectivity services.
“The combination of ExteNet and Hudson Fiber ensures a comprehensive set of outdoor, in-building and enterprise connectivity solutions for service providers, property owners and enterprise clients,” says Diamond in a statement. “I am looking forward to joining ExteNet’s management team and leveraging their purpose-built fiber network, people and resources to serve our growing customer base better.”
