Mozilla announced the release of Firefox 4 Beta for Android and Maemo. The latest iteration of the company’s mobile browser aims at further integration of the desktop and mobile browsing experience.
The news was made public late yesterday in a post by Stuart Parmenter, head of Firefox mobile for Mozilla, on the company’s blog.
New features include, Firefox Sync, which allows users to seamlessly move between desktop and mobile, while syncing browsing history, bookmarks, passwords, form-fill data and open tabs across devices. Additional features include, Awesome Screen, which aims at reducing the amount of typing a user has to do to browse the web, tabbed browsing in thumbnail view, Electrolysis, which increases performance by rendering the browser interface and content separately and layers, which improves the performance of graphics-intensive tasks such as scrolling, zooming and animation.
