AdaptiveMobile has for the first time broken out spam by state, and the results are surprising:
• Florida citizens have the highest rates in the nation, with 1 in 2 people receiving a text message on their mobile.
• Residents in DC have it a little better, with 1 in 3 getting spammed.
• The lowest risk of spam is in to North Dakota, where only 1 in 20 people will receive text spam.

BlackBerry announced that BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 is now available as a hosted service under the fourth iteration of the UK Government’s G-Cloud Program. The G-Cloud Program is a cross-Government initiative which focuses on easing the adoption of cloud-based ICT services across Government departments, local authorities and the wider public sector.
The Board of Directors of Verizon Communications Inc. approved proxy access amendments to the company’s bylaws. Proxy access allows eligible shareholders to place their own director nominees on the company’s proxy card, along with the board candidates nominated by the company. Verizon’s bylaw amendment specifies a three-percent/three-year holding requirement for eligibility. An individual or group of shareholders who meets the eligibility threshold and who complies with certain procedural and disclosure requirements may include in Verizon’s proxy materials shareholder-nominated director candidates to fill up to 20 percent of the available board seats.
Zact Mobile is bringing kid-friendly smartphone service with pre-loaded Disney apps and content to families across the U.S. It will be a smartphone for kids, featuring mobile entertainment from Disney, along with Zact’s customization, flexibility and control. It promises to help parents remotely control when their child uses the phone, which apps they can use, and who they can contact.
GainSpan Corporation, a provider of low-power Wi-Fi connectivity for the Internet of Things, announced that home and commercial automation control solutions provider Savant Systems has chosen GainSpan Wi-Fi technology for its new SmartLighting Wi-Fi control system.
