Red Bend Software announced that LG Electronics has chosen Red Bend’s vRapid Mobile firmware over-the-air (FOTA) updating software and vDirect Mobile device management software for its new Optimus G smartphone.

SK Telecom announced today that President and CEO Ha Sung-min has been re-elected as a GSMA board member. The GSMA announced today that it has elected new members of the GSMA Board for the two-year period from January 2013 through December 2014. 

Amazon.com, Inc. today introduced the Amazon Instant Video App for the iPhone and iPod touch. The app also makes more 30,000 titles from Prime Instant Video available to Prime members such as TV shows and movies. Prime members can stream  the content instantly on their iPhone or iPod touch for free. Amazon announced the Amazon Instant Video app for iPad earlier this year. With today’s launch, Amazon Instant Video is now available across all iOS mobile devices.

Pulse Electronics Corporation introduces a new line of Shadow Low Profile Transit (SLPT) NMO and direct mount antennas to support public safety, WLAN, smart grid/smart metering, 3G, and 4G applications including long term evolution (LTE). These IP-67 rated antennas are provided in a slim, low profile radome of 2.5” to 3” (63.5mm to 76.2mm) tall with a 1.5” (38.1mm) diameter base and high gains of 4 to 5.6 dBi.
