The incessant stream of rumors about Apple’s next iPhone continued Monday with reports about a possible launch date for the device. Apple may unveil a new device, likely a next-generation iPhone, at a event scheduled for September 12, Reuters said, citing an unnamed source familiar with the plan.

Verizon Wireless has taken the wraps off a new LTE handset designed to lure its feature phone users onto smartphones. The Android-based Pantech Marauder, described as “the perfect crossover choice for basic phone customers switching to a smartphone,” has two user interface options: starter mode and standard mode. Starter Mode is a simplified and more intuitive experience that is perfect for those who are new to the smartphone world,” Verizon said in a statement. “Standard Mode is a general smartphone setting for those who are familiar with the Androi experience.” The phone goes on sale August 2 for $50 after a $50 mail-in rebate and new two-year contract. The Marauder was brought to market by Personal Communication Devices, Verizon said.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is coming to T-Mobile USA. The Android device sports a jumbo-sized 5.3-inch touchscreen, 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S3 processor, and front- and rear-facing cameras. T-Mobile has not said how much it will charge for the device, slated to arrive at stores in the coming weeks.

AT&T‘s latest quick messaging phone is the Pantech Renue. The handset comes with green credentials including recyclable components, recycled paper packaging printed with soy ink and energy efficient charger. It is also designed to be resistant to sand, dust, high and low temperatures, humidity, vibration, and solar radiation. The Renue will hit shelves on Oct. 7 for $70 with a new two-year contract and $50 mail-in rebate.
