Motorola Mobility is said to have withdrawn its second International Trade Commission complaint against Apple just two weeks after the agency agreed to investigate the claims, according to a report from FOSS Patents. Motorola filed a motion to dismiss its suit “without prejudice” and said it had not made any settlement with Apple in the case. Google acquired Motorola in part to use its patent portfolio to protect the Android platform against lawsuits from rivals Apple and Microsoft.

AT&T has taken the wraps off another LTE smartphone, the Sony Xperia TL. The device has a 13 megapixel camera, 4.6-inch display, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, NFC and can be upgraded to Android Jelly Bean. Pricing and availability were not announced.

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group has appointed CSR Chief Technology Officer Steven Gray to its board of directors. Gray, whose two-year term starts in December, did early work on Bluetooth technology during a previous post at Nokia. He has also held positions at Intel and Marvell. Other board members include executives from Intel, Motorola, Lenovo, Nokia, Microsoft, Ericsson AB, Toshiba, Apple and Nordic Semiconductor.

Tempest Telecom Solutions has appointed Darlene Braunschweig to lead the expansion of its small cell and distributed antenna systems divisions. Braunschweig previously held a position at Corning Mobile Access, where she was senior vice president of worldwide sales, operations and marketing. Before that, she oversaw Sprint’s large-scale DAS rollout.
