First News Briefs: IBM, Nokia, AT&T, Flowfinity, Radisys, Telum

IBM today announced that telecommunications operator Viettel Cameroon S.A.R.L. is using an IBM Smarter Computing solution to enable Cameroon’s 3G infrastructure and provide high-speed mobile data and voice services.

The first Lumia smartphone to feature metal design detail, the Nokia Lumia 925, lands at AT&T on Sept. 13 for $21 per month with AT&T Next or $99.99 with a two-year agreement.  Pre-orders begin Aug. 28.

Flowfinity Wireless Inc. today announced an enterprise mobility solution for streamlining oil and gas operations in the field. Flowfinity’s enterprise mobile app platform enables oil and gas companies to improve the efficiency and accuracy of mission-critical activities, such as pipeline inspections, with the help of smartphones and tablets.

Radisys Corporation, a provider of wireless infrastructure solutions, and Telum, a Russian provider of military and professional radio communications systems development, today announced successful integration of Radisys’ Compact Evolved Packet Core (EPC) with Telum’s compact LTE base station (eNodeB).
