Nearly 100,000 former Alltel wireless customers in Georgia are seeing a change as AT&T launches service for them. AT&T acquired Alltel’s wireless operations in September 2013. The transaction included subscribers, spectrum and retail and network assets.
Lindsay Corporation, a provider of irrigation systems and infrastructure products, today announced the completion of its acquisition of Elecsys Corporation, a provider of machine-to-machine (M2M) technology solutions and custom electronic systems. Elecsys shareholders will receive $17.50 per share in cash for each share of common stock they owned as of the effective time of the merger, without interest and less any applicable withholding taxes. The agreement was announced on November 4, 2014 and approved at a special meeting of Elecsys stockholders held on January 22, 2015 by over 99 percent of shares voted.
NTT DATA, Inc., an IT services provider, today announced the availability of Ntercept, a mobile app developed to provide personal safety assistance to victims during a crisis situation. Ntercept is now publicly available in both India and the U.S., and both Android and iOS versions of the app are available and can be downloaded from Google Play and the Apple App Store. A Windows version is in development. The Ntercept mobile app, once triggered, makes an emergency call and simultaneously sends text messages to a person’s designated SOS contact list. The SOS message will then be sent every two minutes with a distress message and the current location of the mobile user. The app also records the voice conversation at the site.
Xoom Corporation, a digital money transfer provider, announced that it will incorporate Apple’s Touch ID technology into their mobile money transfers application. This gives customers the option to use their fingerprint data to sign in to the Xoom application on the iPhone 5s, 6 and 6 Plus. The Xoom App is available at the Apple AppStore.
