FirstNews Briefs: Broadcom, Droplet Robotic Sprinkler, Ericsson, Gusto, Entone, Vodafone

Broadcom Corporation today announced that its low-power applications processor is the technology behind a new product designed to reduce water consumption. The Droplet Robotic Sprinkler leverages real-time data from more than 10,000 weather stations, millions of square miles of soil samples and comprehensive plant biological information to make intelligent decisions on when, where and how much water to deliver.

Ericsson today announced that Douglas Gilstrap will resign from his role as Senior Vice President and Head of Group Function Strategy and leave Ericsson’s Executive Leadership Team.

Gusto, the iPhone app that organizes every email, file and photo you’ve ever sent or received into a searchable, unified inbox, today announced it has secured $1.3 million in venture financing in a round led by Elevate Ventures and is now available (for free) in the iTunes App Store.

Entone, Inc., a global provider of Cloud TV and Connected Home solutions, announced today that Vodafone Netherlands is partnering with Entone and its systems integration partner, Divitel, for their fiber-based TV services in the Netherlands.
