Cricket Wireless said it will be the first U.S. carrier to offer a prepaid smartphone with Windows 10 Mobile. Starting May 5, the carrier said it will offer the Microsoft Lumia 650 both online and in stores for $129.99.

Risk management company Assurant, Inc. announced the appointment of Ajay Waghray to the role of chief technology officer and to the company’s management committee, effective May 9, 2016. In this newly created role, Waghray will drive technology strategy and align IT with business objectives across Assurant’s global enterprise. Waghray will be based in Atlanta and report to Assurant President and CEO Alan B. Colberg.
U.S. Cellular announced its customers can now access TigerText, a secure messaging enterprise technology.
TigerText is an app that can be downloaded on both iOS and Android devices. The solution allows customers to protect private and restricted conversations and accelerate workflows via text messaging with the security and confidentiality required by legal and regulatory standards, such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
TigerText service fees will be added to a user’s monthly U.S. Cellular bill.
