FirstNews Briefs: Deutsche Telekom, Telefonica, Creative Mobile, Booz Allen, Nexmo

By Wireless Week staff | October 23, 2014

Anite, a provider of wireless equipment testing technology, today announced Deutsche Telekom has reconfirmed its commitment to SAS – Anite’s device interoperability test solutions – by signing another multi-year agreement. SAS has been used by Deutsche Telekom for over seven years to analyze device interoperability and performance, including roaming scenarios, voice quality and call rejection.

Telefonica/VIVO, the largest telecommunications service provider in Brazil, and ISPM, a vendor of service assurance, orchestration and management software for telecommunications and IT infrastructure, announce the launch of a project to turn Águas de São Pedro, a city in the São Paulo region, into a smart city. In addition to the provision of high-speed broadband connectivity to citizens and businesses, digital solutions will be designed and delivered to assist in education, health, tourism and public spaces, among other areas.

Creative Mobile Technologies, LLC, a taxi technology provider in the United States, has announced the compatibility of its in-vehicle payment platforms with Apple‘s Apple Pay Near Field Communications (NFC) wireless payment technology.

Booz Allen will debut a new device that will help law enforcement and the military conduct immediate fingerprint analysis at an incident scene. The handheld VAMPIRE tactical device conducts real-time forensic analysis in the field and performs fast on-site latent and live fingerprint identification and matching analysis. Not much larger than the average smartphone, the ruggedized tool integrates custom fingerprint analysis into a commercial mobile device.

Nexmo has appointed Trevor Healy to its board of directors as executive chairman. Healy was previously CEO of Amobee and Jajah, Chief Innovation Officer for Telefonica and a former GM for Paypal.
