FirstNews Briefs: HERE, Medio, Verizon, InterDigital, T-Mobile, MetroPCS

Today HERE, a provider of mapping and location intelligence, completed the acquisition of Medio Systems Inc., a Seattle-based company dealing in the emerging field of real-time predictive analytics. The terms of the transaction are confidential.

Verizon Digital Media Services now offers e-commerce website owners an integrated infrastructure solution all from one vendor. The complete e-commerce solution package consists of the following products: Transact (a PCI-certified global e-commerce delivery platform); Protect (content protection); Compute (logic and intelligence at the edge); Analyze (360-degree visibility into content performance and user experience); Develop (custom logic at the edge); Support (24/7 year-round customer support); Store (replicating origin content across a geographically distributed footprint); and Route (DNS- and Anycast-based routing and traffic management).

InterDigital, Inc., a wireless research and development company, today announced the appointment of wireless industry veteran Doug Hutcheson to its Board of Directors.

T-Mobile US, Inc. announced pricing and availability for the new Nokia Lumia 635, a Lumia device powered both by the latest Windows Phone 8.1 operating system and running on T-Mobile’s 4G LTE network. The Lumia 635 will first be available from T-Mobile from July 5th on the Home Shopping Network to Simple Choice prepaid customers, and online beginning July 9th at www.t-mobile.com at $0 down + $7 per month for 24 months with a postpaid T-Mobile Simple Choice plan. The Lumia 635 will then be available online and at select MetroPCS stores beginning July 18th for a promotional price of $99, and at participating T-Mobile stores nationwide July 16th.
