Ingram Micro Inc. and Kyocera Communications Inc. today announced a new agreement in which Ingram Micro Mobility will be the distributor of Kyocera mobile phones in the Latin America region. The new Kyocera DuraForce, a rugged, waterproof 4G LTE global-ready Android smartphone will be the first Kyocera product to enter the Latin America region via this relationship. Kyocera will leverage Ingram Micro’s infrastructure and unique channel capabilities in Latin America, reaching 25,000 resellers (VARs), system integrators and service providers.
Telefónica has chosen Comsearch, a provider of wireless spectrum planning and analysis, to help in creating wireless networks through optimized microwave backhaul systems. Telefónica will use the iQ.linkXG microwave backhaul planning tool from Comsearch, a CommScope company, to maximize investments in its wireless backhaul networks.
Tektronix, Inc., a provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, has introduced a new class of spectrum analyzers based on a USB architecture with a list price of $3,490. The new RSA306 features a 9 kHz to 6.2 GHz frequency range, 40 MHz real time bandwidth and weighs 1.2 pounds. When used with Tektronix SignalVu-PC software, it offers analysis capabilities for such applications as research and development, mobile radio network installation, interference hunting and university-level lab classes.
Cricket Wireless announced the 4G LTE Nokia Lumia 635, its newest Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone from Microsoft. Starting November 7, the Lumia 635 will be available at Cricket Wireless stores and online in Cyan for $99.99 with activation.
