FirstNews Briefs: Kyocera, Broadsoft, TESSCO, GE, Rdio, AXS

Kyocera Corporation, a Japan-based global enterprise, announced the launch of the new TORQUE — a rugged 4G LTE smartphone certified with the United States Military Standard in 11 categories. Marking the company’s entrance in the European mobile phone market, the new model is the latest in Kyocera’s global rugged smartphone series. The new TORQUE will be available this spring starting in Germany and France and can be purchased SIM-free by enterprise users and consumers.

BroadSoft, Inc. today announced that Andrew M. Geisse has been elected to the Board of Directors effective as of February 5, 2015. Mr. Geisse, who previously held several senior executive leadership positions at AT&T, will draw upon 35 years of telecom industry experience to help further extend BroadSoft’s global position in delivering cloud-enabled Unified Communications and Collaboration services.

TESSCO Technologies Incorporated, a provider of the product and value chain solutions required to build, use and maintain wireless systems, announced today that it will distribute multiple power products from GE’s Critical Power business (NYSE: GE) as an authorized channel partner and distributor.

Rdio, a global music streaming service, today announces an exclusive partnership with AXS, an AEG joint venture. All AXS.com ticket buyers will automatically be eligible to receive free, trial subscriptions to Rdio Unlimited.
