FirstNews Briefs: LG, Verizon, Spireon, Sprint, Nextivity, T-Mobile, AetherPal

LG Electronics USA and Verizon Wireless today announced that the LG G Pad 8.3 LTE tablet will be starting March 6 online and in stores. To kick off the launch, the tablet will be available for $99.99 with a new, two-year activation from March 6 until March 10. After March 10, users can purchase the tablet for $199.99 with a new, two-year activation. Customers can add the tablet to their More Everything plan for an additional $10 per month.

Spireon and Sprint announced today the formation of a relationship aimed at providing Spireon’s FleetLocate-branded mobile resource management (MRM) solutions to fleet operators utilizing the Sprint network.

Nextivity Inc. today announced that the Federal Communications Commission has certified its Cel-Fi Smart Signal booster for T-Mobile subscribers. Cel-Fi complies with the new Part 20 Rules outlined in the FCC regulations guiding the use of consumer boosters on licensed spectrum.

AetherPal, a provider of connected device support software for mobile operators and wireless device suppliers, unveiled Virtual Device Depot. Virtual Device Depot supplements the company’s Smart Care Remote Control product, which enables customer care representatives to remotely take control of a user’s mobile device to address issues, by providing a portfolio of virtual mobile devices that can be used by wireless care representatives to provide an enhanced level of service to subscribers.
