MetroPCS is expanding its wireless coverage to Mexico. With Mexico calling, customers receive: 200 minutes and 200 texts to the U.S. while roaming in Mexico; unlimited calling from the U.S. to Mexico-based landlines; 1,000 minutes of mobile-to-mobile calling, and unlimited texting to Mexico — all for $10 per month when choosing MetroPCS’ $50 or higher rate plans.
Broadcom Corporation, Nokia Solutions and Networks and Finnish operator Elisa today announced a demonstration of LTE Advanced (LTE-A) carrier aggregation Category 6 (Cat 6) data rates of 300 Mbps on a live commercial network in the Nordic Countries.
Alcatel-Lucent has supplied Claro Uruguay, a division of leading global wireless service provider America Movil, with an end-to-end 4G LTE network that will be fully deployed and operational in Montevideo by February 2014. Additional phases of network deployment in 2014 will increase the coverage in Montevideo and other cities.

AT&T today announced that AT&T Mobility has reached a tentative agreement with the Communications Workers of America in Mobility Southeast contract negotiations. The four-year agreement, which will be submitted to the union’s membership for a ratification vote in coming days, covers more than 11,500 AT&T Mobility employees in CWA District 3 – the Southeast Region, which includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and St. Croix, USVI. The agreement covers wages, pension, work rules and disability benefits.
