FirstNews Briefs: NTT, Alcatel-Lucent, Fujitsu, mopay, Ruckus, Qualcomm

NTT, Alcatel-Lucent and Fujitsu are to make a proof-of-concept demonstration of the Virtual Network Platform-as-a –service (VNPaaS) technology to the ETSI NFV ISG body in Japan. The demonstration, one of the outcomes from the collaborative study on NFV application, will be presented at the Bankoku Shinryokan Resort MICE Facility in Okinawa on May 14, 2014.

mopay, a provider of payment solutions for online merchants, today announced a carrier billing partnership with Baidu Mobile Game, a mobile games distribution and promotion channel in China. Under this agreement, mopay will be the preferred carrier billing provider for mobile games, which are distributed by the Baidu Mobile Game platform.

Ruckus Wireless, Inc. today announced that Indian Wells Tennis Garden, owned by Larry Ellison, co-founder and CEO of Oracle Corporation, has successfully deployed a high-capacity Smart Wi-Fi network throughout its entire 54 acre complex, which was in use during the BNP Paribas Open held there last March.

Qualcomm Incorporated today announced the election of Harish Manwani to its Board of Directors. Manwani brings more than 35 years of consumer product and global management experience, and currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Unilever PLC.
