NYU WIRELESS announced that AT&T joined the university research center as an affiliate sponsor—a three-year commitment to collaborating on the next generation of mobile network technology. Their research aims to ensure that the telecommunications industry can stay ahead of the demands of its users, who are consuming data at an ever-increasing pace and scale.

Verizon Wireless introduced its first store in Wichita featuring a new retail store design intended to make shopping for wireless devices and services more convenient and more personalized. The redesigned stores are called Smart Stores and feature products in mobile lifestyle zones.

Canon U.S.A., Inc. today announced its Canon Mobile Scanning for Business App for iPhone and iPad, adding mobile scan workflow capability to Canon’s support for mobile office users and consumers. Canon Mobile Scanning for Business enables users in homes and offices to scan jobs from a supported imageCLASS multifunction printer (MFP) directly into their compatible iPhone or iPad device to support a user’s portability, distribution or backup needs.
