FirstNews Briefs: Samsung, Sprint, Trimble, Wireless Ronin, Creative Realities

By Wireless Week staff | August 22, 2014

Samsung is soon releasing a Multi-Charging Wall Charger that allows users to charge up to three micro USB devices at once. The Multi-charging cable optimizes the total charge across all three devices, dividing the 2A charge evenly. In other words, if you’re only charging two devices, power flows faster to each than if you were charging three simultaneously.

From Friday, August 22, 2014 through Sunday, August 31, 2014, customers can bring a canned food donation to any participating Sprint store in Alabama, D.C., Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina to help families across the state. Everyone who brings in a canned donation will receive 20% off one accessory including phone cases, headphones, speakers, power packs and more. This offer excludes Galaxy Gear.

Trimble today announced three new asset inspection software solutions for heavy civil contractors—Trimble Inspector, Trimble Inspector Pro and Trimble Asset Manager. Trimble Inspector Pro, the premium, subscription version of Trimble Inspector, is used to wirelessly aggregate and share asset condition across multiple sites using Trimble Asset Manager office software. Trimble Asset Manager software gives contractors the ability to store the inspection data of all assets in a centralized, Web-based database for reporting and documentation.
