Syniverse has developed a new innovation and signed an agreement with a Tier 1 operator in Japan to enable  interstandard roaming in which GSM users can roam onto CDMA networks.

IBM today announced it has built an intelligent security portfolio for protecting people, data and applications in the cloud. Designed to be used with different users, whether it be a developer or line-of-business executive, the portfolio includes analytics and security intelligence for public cloud services such as IBM’s SoftLayer. In addition, the offering features IBM’s Managed Security Services platform, which can help secure the cloud for IBM clients as well as clients of companies like Amazon Web Services and Salesforce.com.

Nexmo, a cloud communication company, today announced a strategic partnership with BICS (Belgacom International Carrier Services), a global provider of international connectivity and inter-operability services. The partnership enables Nexmo to provide its growing slate of enterprises and app developer customers with enhanced and upgraded mobile voice quality, connectivity and termination services to regions in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) where BICS provides direct voice reach.

AT&T today launched the free AT&T DriveMode app for iOS in the App Store. The app silences incoming text message alerts, turns on automatically when one drives 15 MPH or more and turns off shortly after one stops. It also allows parents with young drivers to receive a text message if the app is turned off.
