FirstNews Briefs: Verizon, Schindler, Exede, Exalt, Al-Jazeera Telecom, VoIP-Pal

Verizon announced new agreements with TE Connectivity and Schindler Elevator Corporation for advanced technology solutions including cloud and the Internet of Things. As a part of Schindler’s advanced maintenance delivery system, Verizon has signed an agreement with Schindler to provide 4G LTE network coverage for Schindler’s Remote Monitoring Center.

Exede Business is a new service designed to provide small and medium-sized businesses with satellite Internet, a data allowance, priority maintenance and 24×7 U.S.-based customer support. This new business Internet service, from ViaSat Inc. (NASDAQ: VSAT), is available in all or portions of more than 40 states covered by the ViaSat-1 satellite.

Exalt Communications, Inc., a provider of wireless connectivity systems for private networks and Internet infrastructures, today announced that Al-Jazeera Telecom of Baghdad, Iraq has deployed Exalt ExtremeAir all-outdoor microwave backhaul systems to provide Gigabit per-second (Gbps) connectivity to its core Internet network.

Voip-Pal.com Inc. announced it has received the Patent Grant Certificate for its Uninterrupted Transmission of Internet Protocol Transmissions During Endpoint Changes (UI) Patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. The Uninterrupted Transmission technology allows for transition from one Internet access point to another providing continuous connectivity of a mobile device across any packet based wireless network.
